Welcome to the Diabetes UK Career Centre. Please read the below carefully as it is legally binding on you. Your use of this Website means you accept these Terms and Conditions as at the date of your first use of this Website. 

 

You are responsible for making all arrangements necessary for you to have access to our site. You are also responsible for ensuring that all persons who access our site through your internet connection are aware of these Terms and Conditions, and that they comply with them. 

 

Definitions 

“Website” means http://mycareer.diabetes.org.uk or any other website under Diabetes UK’s ownership or control from which a link has been created to these Terms and Conditions. 

 

“You”, “your” and “yours” means the person(s) accessing the Website. 

 

“We”, “us” and “our” means the British Diabetic Association, operating as Diabetes UK. We are a company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales under company number 00339181 and have our registered office at Wells Lawrence House, 126 Back Church Lane, London E1 1FH. We are a charity registered in England and Wales (no 215199) and Scotland (SC039136) 

 

“Material” means any information, data, text, graphics, links, programming code or other material published, contained or available on the Website. 

 

“Terms and Conditions” means the terms and conditions set out below, including where applicable, the Registration Terms and Conditions (defined below).

We reserve the right to change these Terms and Conditions at any time. Please check back regularly because the amended Terms and Conditions will apply to your continued use of the Website. Certain provisions may be extended or superseded by expressly designated legal notices or terms located on particular pages of the Website.

*Calls to 0345 numbers cost no more than calls to geographic (01 and 02) numbers and must be included in inclusive minutes on mobile phones and discount schemes. Calls from landlines are typically charged between 2p and 10p per minute while calls from mobiles typically cost between 10p and 40p per minute. Calls from landlines and mobiles to 0345 numbers are included in free call packages. Calls may be recorded for quality and training purposes. 

 

Users 

The Website is intended for people accessing it from within the United Kingdom. We cannot guarantee the site or the information it contains complies with or is appropriate for use in other countries. 

 

Registration 

Certain areas of the Website (such as those where you can upload, post or share information), are only available to you if you register with us. Additional Registration Terms and Conditions will apply to you if you choose to register with us. 

 

If you choose, or you are provided with, a user identification code, password or any other piece of information as part of our registration security procedures, you must treat such information as confidential, and you must not disclose it to any third party. Whilst we try to ensure that the Website is normally available 24 hours a day, we shall not be liable if for any reason the Website is unavailable at any time or for any period. Access to the Website may be suspended temporarily and without notice in the case of system failure, maintenance or repair or for reasons beyond our control. 

 

Liability 

Neither we, nor any other party involved in creating, producing, maintaining or delivering the Website, will be liable for any amount or kind of loss or damage that may result to you or a third party including without limitation any loss of income, profits, goodwill, data, contracts, use of money, or loss or damages arising from or connected in any way to business interruption, whether in tort, contract or otherwise (including without limitation negligence) in connection with: your use, inability to use or the results of use of the Website, any websites linked to the Website or the material on such websites; or any amount or kind of loss or damage including without limitation any loss or damage due to viruses that may infect your computer equipment, software, data, or other property on account of your access to, use of, or browsing the Website or your downloading of any Material from the Website or any websites linked to the Website. 

 

In so far as we are able we exclude all liability for all direct, indirect, punitive or consequential loss or damage which arises out of or in connection with the use of the Website. 

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence (as such term is defined by the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977, fraud, or misrepresentation as to a fundamental matter. 

If your use of the Website results in the need for servicing, repair or correction of your equipment, software or data, you assume all costs of this. 

 

Viruses, hacking and other offences 

You must not misuse our site by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our site, the server on which our site is stored or any server, computer or database connected to our site. You must not attack our site via a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of service attack. 

 

By breaching this provision, you would commit a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990. We will report any such breach to the relevant law enforcement authorities and we will co-operate with those authorities by disclosing your identity to them. In the event of such a breach, your right to use our site will cease immediately. 

 

We will not be liable for any loss or damage caused by a distributed denial-of-service attack, viruses or other technologically harmful material that may infect your computer equipment, computer programs, data or other proprietary material due to your use of our site or to your downloading of any material posted on it, or on any website linked to it. 

 

Jurisdiction and applicable law 

The English courts will have exclusive jurisdiction over any claim arising from, or related to, a visit to our site although we retain the right to bring proceedings against you for breach of these conditions in your country of residence or any other relevant country. 

 

These terms of use and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales.
